Great work on the finished product and rationale, I remember your initial design proposal and it was interesting to see how its all changed, but I'm glad it did change. The model looks much more slim-lined and I can immediatly see what your product is targeting, also helps with your very detailed development page, great work.
Katherine, I have seen this project from when you first came up with the idea and i commend you on your efforts not only does your product look great but also your rationale has turned out very good. The final bottle looks amazing but if i was going to be a harsh critique i would use colours that would brighten up the product and draw interest. Your CAD and solidworks page really highlight the depth of construction. Well done overall a great outcome.
I love that you took a bold approach to the graphics in your rationale. The black and white theme is strong and the silhouettes are cool - may not be totally appropriate for showing off a product / idea though and overpowers the product a little (still cool). Also beautifully printed and a really original packaging shape!
'Bio-mimic of the tessellating beehive base' - best description ever.
The idea of a well packaged weight loss powder seems appropriate. There's been a countless number of times where individuals tell me about how important losing weight is to them- which makes this product suitable for its intended target market. The CAD models really help to visualize the idea and sell it before even having manufactured it. It is a good method of testing your design with different color combinations.
I definitely share your concern about packaging (particularly hard structures like tubs) being filled with its content so inefficiently. I love how your design incorporates a monitoring system which connects emotionally with the user as well. I also like the idea of the physical shape having connotations to weight loss, definitely sending an immediate message when viewed on the shelf. Great bold graphic design as well! One setback of the dark packaging however, is that it makes the product not stand out as much as competitors who incorporate colourful graphic design to entice users.
